On Saturday, August 3, 2019, Patrick Crusius, 21, killed 23 people and wounded 23 others at a Walmart store in El Paso, Texas (see details here).
The victims ranged from 2 to 82 years old. Crusius didn’t know any of them. Goaded by online haters, he “wanted to stop a Hispanic invasion of Texas” (see story here). Two-thirds of the victims were U.S. citizens, one was from Germany. (His parents said don’t blame his childhood; but in any case, I don’t care what his problem is.)
Nearly 4 years later on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, Crusius pleaded guilty to all 90 federal charges against him as the judge read them one-by-one; but only because federal prosecutors had dropped the death penalty. He won’t be sentenced until June 2023, but it’s understood he’ll get 90 life sentences.
Crusius still faces state charges, and Texas prosecutors indicate they’ll seek a death sentence. This monster deserves to be dead, but otherwise stick him in a concrete box at Florence ADX (below). Don’t worry about that dehumanizing him,; there’s nothing there that isn’t already dehumanized.
