    See the case of Walter Nixon:

    Nixon v. United States, 506 U.S. 224 (1993)

    No witnesses testified to the Senate. In fact unless it is the President or Vice President the Senate does not even do a trial, Just goes in front of the judiciary committee that puts out a report to the Senate that then votes. No being stuck in chairs for hours with only milk and water.

    And the Supremes are like however the Senate wants to roll on this as they have sole power on trying impeachments.

    BS.. Nixon was told he would lose when the case came to trial. He resigned.
