For many people, “shopping on Black Friday has become a holiday tradition,” said Marshal Cohen, chief retail analyst with market researcher NPD Group. Meanwhile, according to a market research by Nielsen, around 80% of the population doesn’t prefer bustling through crowds and stay home watching others fighting for wide-screen TVs, tablet computers and even… for towels.
And thanks to the Internet, people got Black Friday 365 days a year.
“There’s almost no use in going to a store anymore,” said Nikoleta Panteva, senior retail analyst with IBISWorld, a business research firm. “You can find highly competitive prices online throughout the year.”
