Speaker Mike invites Israeli leader, snubs Kenya leader

House Speaker Mike Johnson will invite Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu to address a joint session of Congress even if the Senate doesn’t cooperate (see story here), but refused a similar invite to Kenya president William Ruto — even though he sides with Israel against Hamas (details here) — which The Hill says is typically extended to visiting foreign leaders (story here). I suspect this is Republicans having another hissy fit about colors. I don’t mean the usual suspects, i.e. Ruto’s (black) and Netanyahu’s (white) colors:

Rather, I think it’s the flag colors (Kenyan, top; Palestinian, bottom) Republicans can’t stand.
