Tourism is a big thing these days.
Do you want to climb Mount Everest or go birdwatching in Mongolia? You can sign up for a guided tour, although Everest could be tricky if you’re obese, out of shape, and suffering from COPD.
In other words, there are limits to tourist behavior, no matter how much moola they’re willing to shell out. For example, travel agency Discover Africa turned down a couple who “asked if their young son could ride a lion while on safari.”
Now, I have it on good authority (here) that “technically you can ride a lion,” but “riding one is not something that can be accomplished overnight, even with the help of a really good trainer or an extremely docile lion” (their emphasis).
So, the couple decided “they were going to go to India where their son would be able to ride a tiger.” Tourism being what it is, I’m sure someone accommodated them (see photo below).
But a real tiger? A real tiger would look at their kid and think “lunch.”
