From Mother Jones (here):
- 140 police officers assaulted
- 725+ rioters arrested
- 81 arrested rioters are veterans
- 70 rioters have been sentenced
- 225+ rioters charged with assaulting, resisting, or impeding police officers
- 75+ charged with using a weapon or causing serious harm to a police officer
Are the rioters really on par with the Weather Underground or the Puerto Rican Freedom Fighters.
The Weather Underground and Puerto Rican nationalists were terrorists with real grievances (whether valid or not) who violently attacked our government, but there was never any chance they could overthrow our government. The Jan. 6 mob also violently attacked our government, over an imaginary grievance, and because of their greater numbers they were (and still are) a much greater threat to our democracy and freedom.
