NEXT MONDAY AT DRINKING LIBERALLY: “LEARNING LAW IN CHINA”
NEXT MONDAY, MAY 15 at Drinking Liberally.
Gail Stygall is anything but your image of the typical UW English Professor.
Professor Stygall has just returned from a law school in China where she worked with Chinese lawyers on how to write real laws in their restrictive system.
Gail is interesting for other reasons. She has headed the Expository Writing Center at the UW and written on writing programs for administrators, lawyers and others with a need to write in ways the rest of us can understand.
Gail has also served in the faculty body that supposedly governs the UW, the Faculty Senate, including as term as Chair of the Senate.
Learn what it like for an American to help write laws in a government controlled, corporate system …. China!
Gail will address Drinking Liberally – Fremont Monday, May 15, 7:00 pm at Fremont Tavern. Come have a beer and hear what she has to say. You might learn something!
