Trump’s rejection of TPP underscores how different he is from his Republican predecessors — and some of the party’s current leaders — who embraced free trade, Chauvinism aside, protectionism NEVER works. Moreover, unlike Trump’s US, China is (already) a corporate state and China is well managed. Without TPP we will be competing as a cacophony state against not just China but against a trading block that China .. possibly including Russia and perhaps even Europe and India … will build that is much larger than we are.
