The first image shows that not everyone who is a Republican flies the flag everyone can fly the flag what’s your point.
The second image is your freedom of speech I have no problem with it.
The third flag is disingenuous, not every one who flies the flag is a racist or even a redneck.
The fourth image is a lie everyone knows that last I don’t know what your point is here they fly it because they want to be rebellious or have southern pride no one thinks they are still the confederate States of America.
The fifth image, alright well I will remember that the next time you celebrate anything outside of just being in America.
The sixth image. Then you need to get your eyes corrected and that is a cross not the stars and bars it’s called google search it’s not hard.
For the last image, if you are flying any flag while it’s burning, you are dumb, burn on the ground if you must, but if you want to risk catching anything else on fire, then I think should go to jail.
Just so you know I already know yours are gonna post my comic because it doesn’t support the narrative of what you guys are doing but I went and screen shot what I wrote because I know you ain’t gonna post it. Because it doesn’t support your narrative that everyone flying the flag is a racist and a redneck and stupid.
Why wouldn’t I post your comments?
So, here is MY take. I do not see the stars and bars as any different then the swastika flag. I do not doubt that some folks may see the flag as part of their national identity but that vision is profoundly and I suspect willfully ignorant of the evil side of that identity.
Surely you can celebrate your heritage and even the idea of rebelliousness without this symbol? Would you feel the same if a German flew the swastika?
The Confederate flag is not an American flag, and the Confederates were not Americans. They were foreign enemies (from a country that doesn’t exist anymore) who fought a war against America and spilled American blood because they didn’t want to be Americans. Why should we honor their flag? That makes no more sense than honoring the flags of Nazi Germany or Imperial Japan. For an American, flying the Confederate flag is fundamentally unpatriotic. And, like those nations, the Confederacy fought for an evil cause. History should remember the Confederacy, in order to learn from it, but shouldn’t honor it.
If you’d like to discuss this some more, we could get together at Appomattax sometime. Bring your flag with you, and don’t plan to leave with it.
