Kochs join with liberals to work for criminal justice reform

America’s criminal justice system is so badly broken the Kochs are joining forces with progressives to push for reforms.

Koch Industries and Center for American Progress, a progressive group, are teaming up to study the problem and lobby Congress for changes. A Tea Party group and the ACLU also are joining the coalition.

“The coalition plans a multimillion-dollar campaign … to reduce prison populations, overhaul sentencing, reduce recidivism and take on similar initiatives … the largest national effort focused on the strained prison and justice system. They also view the coalition as a way to show lawmakers in gridlocked Washington that factions with widely divergent views can find ways to work together and arrive at consensus-policy solutions,” the Seattle Times reports.

The U.S. has the highest incarceration rates in the world, outstripping China and other countries our government frequently criticizes for human rights abuses. They usually respond by telling usRoger-Rabbit-icon1 to look in a mirror.
