Drunk driving is a human failing, not solely a Republican one (see, e.g., Paul Pelosi’s DUI arrest and conviction), but some of our GOP friends add an extra dimension to it.
In Las Vegas, Patsy Brown, a GOP candidate for local office, told the cops she had only one beer after being pulled, but officers “found a red plastic cup with alcohol inside on the passenger side of her SUV, alcohol spilled on the floor and an open bottle of New Amsterdam Vodka,” and her breath stank, the police report said. (See story here.)
Practically all drunk drivers lie to the cops about how much they’ve been drinking, but this fib takes it to a Republican level of lying, which is a whole different level.
“Other prominent recent DUI cases,” Raw Story says, “involve Ian Smith, a New Jersey gym owner famous for defying COVID lockdown restrictions and former GOP candidate for Congress who accused cops of being paid off to target him after being pulled over; [and] Manatee County, Florida commissioner George Kruse, who claimed he was the victim of a ‘witch hunt’ after plowing his car into a tree” (story link above).
Driving drunk and then claiming the cops were bribed to pull him over? Hitting a tree and then calling his DUI arrest a “witch hunt”? Okaaay …
It makes you wonder what they’ve been drinking when they spew their George Soros and dead Venezuelan dictator election conspiracy theories, doesn’t it?
