Filipinos elected Rodrigo Duterte, known for his sex jokes, threats to mass murder his opponents and promise to end corruption within six months.
Following his landslide election, the Philippine’s version of Trump, President Rodrigo Duterte has branded local bishops corrupt “sons of whores” because of the opposition to birth control and support for traditional marriage.
The new president went on to warn the church, that he had more power than its leaders and would defy them by dramatically expanding family planning.
Duterte last year called Pope Francis a “son of a whore” for causing traffic jams when the pontiff visited Manila.
Duterte, who admits to serial Viagra-fuelled adultery against his current partner after having his first marriage annulled, also blamed the Church for the nation’s rapid population growth. He has four children to two mothers.
