Every time a kid shoots up a school, people ask, “where did he get the weapon?”
Georgia school shooter Colt Gray’s father gave him the AR-15 “as a holiday present” after police interviewed the boy about online threats to shoot up a school.
This level of parental indifference deserves a societal response, and there has been one. The dad has been arrested, and like his son, will face murder charges (read story here).
What about the mother? She’s an habitual drug user with a long criminal history who neglected her children (read story here).
Social workers were aware of this family. So were police. Questions may be asked in coming days why their kids weren’t taken away from them. But never mind that now; this is a time for consequences.
