Another guilty plea in Lynnwood skinhead assault case

Randy Aaron Smith, 42, of Eugene, Oregon, pleaded guilty on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, to federal charges for participating in a skinhead gang’s brutal beating of a black disc jockey in 2018 at a Lynnwood, Washington bar (read story here).

He was one of a group of at least 16 belligerent white supremacists throwing Nazi salutes who entered the bar, confronted the D.J. over music being played, and then assaulted him, the bar manager, and a bar patron who tried to intervene. All three victims suffered injuries. (Read story here.)

The skinheads were passing through on their way to Whidbey Island. Eight of their number were arrested for the attack. Smith now faces up to 15 years in federal prison. Earlier this year, two other defendants in the case, including a Tacoma tattoo parlor owner, pleaded guilty in the case. (Read story here.)
