Cops with no respect for the law or citizens’ rights shouldn’t be cops.
Some cops have adopted a new tactic to prevent citizens from legally recording their activities, and then posting the videos online: Playing copyrighted music. Their purpose: To thwart citizens from doing what they have a legal right to do.
Here’s a thought: If those citizens can’t play the copyrighted music, then the cops can’t either, so they’re violating the copyright owner’s legal rights, too. They’re also disturbing the neighbors, which violates their right to peace and quiet.
Santa Ana police say they’ve investigating the cops in the video below. I say fire them. There should be no room in law enforcement for playing games.
