Marjorie Taylor Greene, the incendiary Georgia Republican denied seats on House committees for saying Democrats should be killed, has called investigations of the violent Jan. 6 insurrection an “over-dramatization of a riot that happened here at the Capitol one time” (see story here).
That one riot was enough to ruin Jacob Fracker’s life.
Fracker was a Virginia cop and National Guardsman. Today he’s a convicted felon (see story here). He was fired from his police job after being arrested, and after pleading guilty he’s being kicked out of the National Guard (see story here).
He’s done with police work; felons can’t be cops. He also lost his Second Amendment rights; felons can’t have guns. He’s lost his military pension, too, because he won’t be able to get in enough years of service; and he may be denied veteran’s benefits, depending on what kind of discharge he gets.
His friendship with Thomas Robertson is ruined too. They stormed the Capitol together on Jan. 6, but Fracker got lenient treatment for himself by testifying against Robertson, who was convicted by a jury this week and faces up to 20 years in prison.
Greene says her constituents “are sick and tired of Jan. 6. It’s over, OK?” Knowing they elected someone like her, I can believe that’s how they feel about it.
But it’s certainly not over for Fracker (left in photo) and Robertson (right in photo). The fallout of that one riot is an albatross they’ll wear around their necks for the rest of their lives.
