No. It’s empty GOP “culture wars” demagoguery.
GOP legislatures are falling over themselves passing laws to ban transgender youth from girls’ sports.
But in Indiana, where a GOP governor vetoed such legislation, “at no point in the past 10 years had a trans girl sought to compete on a girls’ team.”
And in Utah, where another GOP governor vetoed a similar bill, “among the 75,000 kids participating in high school sports in Utah, four are trans, and only one plays girls’ sports.”
In North Dakota, a third state where a GOP governor vetoed a transgender sports ban, “To date there has not been a single recorded incident of a transgender girl attempting to play on a North Dakota girls’ team.”
Three states where GOP legislators made banning transgender kids from sports a pressing legislative matter together have exactly one trans kid playing on a girls’ team. One.
Much ado about nothing. Who elected these clowns? Stupid, bigoted, knee-jerk voters. But I’m still for democracy anyway.
