The woman dubbed “Bagel Karen” (photo, right) who berated a bakery employee after being refused service for going maskless explained, “I’m a Christian and I don’t cover my face.”
In other words, she’d rather make other shoppers dead than be caught dead wearing a cloth even faintly, remotely (with much imagination) resembling a burqa or veil, presumably because she doesn’t want to be taken for a Muslim.
There’s a political and racist agenda here, too: “The woman caught on video calling a New York City bagel shop worker the N-word “is an anti-masker fiercely opposed to coronavirus restrictions — who claims she didn’t use the racial slur that was clearly captured on video,” according to the New York Post.
