North Korea unveils ICBMs capable of reaching U.S.

North Korea displayed two new ICBMs during a military parade on Saturday, October 10, 2020, on the occasion of the regime’s 75th anniversary.

One is land-based (above), the other submarine-launched (below). The missiles are larger and longer range than previous North Korean missiles and experts believe they could reach anywhere in the U.S., but it’s unknown if they’re mockups or functional. Neither has been tested.

Some experts speculated these weapons could deliver multiple warheads, while others think North Korea needs them for its heavy warheads. The SLBM is destined for North Korea’s conventionally powered submarines, which could find it challenging to evade the U.S. Navy to get into firing position.
