For all who have been having a six & 1/2 year fit over the run up of the national debt, please understand that the current deficit is $1 TRILLION (where’s the Dr. Evil emoticon?) LOWER than the day Obama took office. And, as a percentage of GDP, the deficit is lower than growth in GDP, which is a relationship that is sustainable FOREVER without harm to the economy. The borrow & spend Republicans run up the deficit, and the Democrats run it back down again. That has been the case for at least 35 years.
