Town Of Newton Will Demolish Sandy Hook Shooter’s Home

Newton’s town council voted tonight to tear down the house where Adam Lanza lived before his Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting spree. The land will become open space.

The house belonged to his mother, who became his first victim. It was inherited by her surviving son, whose attorney arranged its transfer to a bank, which donated it to the town. Many neighbors wanted it torn down.

The school has already been demolished, and construction of a new school will begin in March.
