China reportedly shows off next-gen submarine at PLAN
A large part of US military strategy is based on the ability of American carriers to dominate (and pacify) the seas. That may be challenged by the increased purchase of quiet diesel electric submarines capable of challenging the local use of carrier task forces of the costs of Israel, Iran, Brazil or other local powers. BUT .. the US would still control the great seas unless China is able to create a fleet of like the mock-up of a nuclear-powered attack submarine just shown aby the People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) in Qingdao, China.
