The social media narrative that followed the video below is that a crowd in New York City prevented a white female hospital worker from taking a rental bike from a young black man after he paid for it by pretending she was being attacked. But her lawyer says she paid for the bike first (see story here), and has a receipt to prove it (see story here). While some internet users quickly judged her to be a “Karen,” was this just two people trying to rent the same bike, resulting in a huge misunderstanding?
