Robert LaMay was a good man. He served the citizens of Washington, and Yakima Valley, as a state trooper for 22 years and 5 months.
Trooper LaMay resigned on October 15, 2021, rather than comply with a state employee vaccine mandate. His final radio sign-off, which concluded with him telling Gov. Jay Inslee to “kiss my ass,” went viral on YouTube (watch it below). Less than 3½ months later, he was dead from Covid-19 (see story here).
A year later, at the first anniversary of Trooper LaMay’s passing, let’s remember him for his selfless public service and not harp on his obstinate stupidity.
