A rumor is circulating that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), a GOP clown posing as a legislator, auditioned for American Idol under an alias in 2002 and was rejected following an awful performance (see story here).
The person in the audition video that recently surfaced (watch it below) certainly looks and sounds like her. But it’s not her.
The evidence is compelling. First, Greene (she was married by then) wasn’t a prominent political figure in 2002, so she had no reason to use an alias. Second, it would be out of character for Greene, an attention seeker, to hide her identity. Third, the supposed “alias,” Stefanie Sugarman of Loma Alta, California, is a real person.
The clincher is that Greene wasn’t eligible to audition. Back then, America Idol’s age limit was 24 (details here), whereas Greene was 28 then. At the time, Sugarman was 23. See story here.
So let’s squash this story right now. After that performance, Sugarman went into hiding. Greene had no reason to.
