Who’s still in the Supreme Court running?

Biden “is expected” to name his Supreme Court nominee within days, the Guardian says (here), and has interviewed three black women widely considered leading candidates.

They are Ketanji Brown Jackson (left), Leondra Kruger (center), and J. Michelle Childs (right); the media have portrayed Jackson as the frontrunner, while GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham has endorsed Childs.

Jackson was recently elevated to the D.C. Court of Appeals from a district court judgeship; Kruger is a California Supreme Court justice; and Childs is a district court judge in North Carolina whom Biden nominated for a federal court of appeals judgeship.

A White House spokesperson said as of Tuesday, February 22, Biden hadn’t settled on a choice, but still intends to do so by the end of the month despite the distraction of the Ukraine crisis.
