Sen. Clown yukking it up
Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA), a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, weighed in Tuesday on Biden’s yet-unnamed Supreme Court pick by saying, “No. 1, I want a nominee who knows a law book from a J. Crew catalog,” and, “No. 2, I want a nominee who’s not going to try to rewrite the Constitution every other Thursday to try to advance a ‘woke agenda,’” Huffington Post reported on February 2, 2022 (story here).
The “catalog” cliche is a favorite of Kennedy’s, who has used it many times. He’s a strong believer in recycling.
The other comment is, well, devoid of anything resembling substance. “Woke” is a spongy term that can mean whatever you want it to. And this is a senator who, although a lawyer, reduces his thoughts on constitutional jurisprudence to a clownish one-liner, which suggests he doesn’t have any thoughts.
Oh, and he likes to number his vapid comments out loud, too (go here for another example), I’m guessing so he doesn’t lose them, like those people who finger their car keys while walking down the street to make sure they still have them.
Look, he’s not going to vote for any Biden nominee no matter who it is. Whatever he says on this (or any other) subject is for entertainment only.
