A judge rejected the prosecutor’s recommendation of 3 months and gave Enrique Tarrio, leader of the violent rightwing Proud Boys group, 5 months in jail on Monday, August 23, 2021. Read story here.
Tarrio pleaded guilty to property destruction (viz., burning a Black Lives Matter banner stolen from a church) and a weapons charge (bringing high-capacity rifle magazines into Washington D.C. just before the Capitol riot).
He wept crocodile tears. Said he was sorry, made a mistake. (Actually, two mistakes.) The judge wasn’t having it. Tarrio didn’t endear himself to his fellow insurrectionists, either; when it came out that he’s a snitch.

Proud? Boys? What do they have to be proud of? They named themselves boys, but when will they act and behave like the chronologically grown-up mature men they are supposed to be?
Acting like the little boys they named themselves after with their destruction at the US Capitol, the temper tantrum on display because they deny facts and truth which is their chosen Republican candidate and former president lost the 2020 election.
Part of being grown up is accepting facts and accepting what you cannot change.
