Remorseful Capitol rioter gets probation

A Capitol rioter drew a sentence of probation, community service, restitution, being prohibited from own a gun, and submitting to drug tests after profusely apologizing for participating in a violent attempt to overthrow our government.

Anna Morgan-Lloyd (mugshot, left), 49, who traveled from Indiana to Washington D.C. to support Trump’s false assertions the election was stolen, spilled tears as she told the judge, “I just would like to apologize the court, the American people and my family,” and “I’m ashamed that it became a savage display of violence.”

But that wasn’t all; she called the insurrection “disgraceful to the American people” and her lawyer told the court, “She hopes one day to return to the U.S. Capitol in homage and reverence to our country.”

She’s also embarked on a course of self-improvement, reading the books “Just Mercy” and “Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee,” and watching the movies “Mudbound,” “Schindler’s List,” “Slavery by Another Name” and “Tulsa Burning” — at the suggestion of her court-appointed (meaning taxpayer-funded) defense attorney.

That’s quite a change of tune; Morgan-Lloyd previously described rioters “breaking windows, destroying government property, and assaulting law enforcement officers” as “patriots.” (Read more about her here.) It’s amazing how a sentencing hearing clears a person’s mind.

Success the judge made her cry. Probation baby. Snake Plissken would never cry in a court room.
