“Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp said Tuesday voters waiting in line in Georgia could order food from Grubhub or UberEats after a new state law criminalized offers of free food and water near polling stations,” Huffington Post reported on Wednesday, April 7, 2021.
“They can order a pizza. They can order Grubhub or UberEats,” Kemp said during an interview on Newsmax, a rightwing extremist platform. In other words, delivering food and drink to voters waiting in line is still legal in Georgia — if they pay for it.
The unspoken implication is that people who can’t afford food delivery have no business voting in the first place. Read story here.
