Republicans are trying to steal elections

From an NBC News story on Thursday, March 18, 2021 (here):

“In Georgia on Wednesday,” while the U.S. reeled from the Atlanta spa shootings, “state Senate Republicans quietly introduced and fast-tracked a 93-page voter suppression bill” that replaced a 2-page bill on absentee voting they were supposedly going to hold hearings on. That’s a bait-and switch. “It’s all part and parcel of the party’s embrace of former President Donald Trump’s false narrative that the 2020 election was ‘stolen’ from Republicans because more people … voted for Democrats ….”

More people really did vote for Democrats. Yet, the gut feeling of Republicans everywhere is they were robbed. Why? Because they believe only they have a right to govern? It seems so. Having lost, they’re now resorting to every dirty trick in the book to ensure they’re the only ones who can vote.

This goes beyond playing political games. Nor is it merely trying to steal elections. It’s a rogue political faction traveling at breakneck speed on a path to tyranny. The attacks on our freedom to choose oiur own government are occurring in GOP-controlled state legislatures, yet the impact of those attacks affect us all, because the targets are the White House and Congress. Federal laws can stop this, only federal laws can stop it, and those laws must be enacted. Otherwise, we will lose our freedom.

It will be challenged for sure, but Congress has clear authority in the Constitution to regulate elections for federal office. Read more here.
