Nebraska’s governor accused Colorado’s of a “direct attack on our way of life” after the latter urged residents to go meatless one day per week.
After Gov. Jared Polis, a Democrat, recognized “MeatOut Day,” a creature of the animal-rights movement, Gov. Pete Ricketts, a Republican, retaliated by proclaiming “Meat on the Menu Day” at an Omaha meat shop.

As neither of those states host Minuteman missile bases, escalation risk is considered low, although it can’t be ruled out altogether because of the possible presence of armed vigilante militias in those states.
Don’t eat meat. Any doctor will tell you it’s bad for you. Beef, in particular, can kill you (it clogs arteries and contributes to heart attacks). Eat fish instead.
