What vaccines can’t cure

“As the state prepares to administer its first shipment of Covid-19 vaccines, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee is urging all residents to be vigilant and to *continue* acting responsibly during this pandemic,” CNN reported on Thursday, December 17, 2020 (asterisks mine).

“Lee also added the vaccine is not a cure for foolish decisions on how we gather, or one’s refusal to wear a mask and it won’t cure the idea that someone else’s decision won’t impact another person’s life,” CNN said. In other words, selfishness.

Or stupidity, either, he could add, but didn’t because politicians have to watch their words, especially when talking about their constituents. This applies to the word “continue,” too; I put asterisks around it because you can’t continue something you haven’t done, i.e., act responsibly, it being obvious he wouldn’t be making this speech if his constituents had acted responsibly.

    1. The right wing Covid-19 deniers choose not to wear masks while they help choose to spread Covid-19. While right wing deniers may be asymptomatic or have recently tested positive, they can spread the virus to others who may have compromised and underlying health issues.

    2. Like trump and Giuliani, the republican trump followers attend rallies, weddings, and large gatherings unmasked and then act surprised when they end up with Covid-19, as if it is now a status symbol. Unworried of course, because trump and Giuliani and his loyalists get only the best medical care and medicine that isn’t readily available to the average citizen. They selfishly seek the best care after they have exposed others to the virus and take up hospital bed space from people who through no risk taking of their own, became unknowingly exposed to a non-caring right wing non-mask wearing elitist who doesn’t give a damn about anyone but their selfish selves as exemplified by their selfish leader in chief the outgoing president trump.

    Trumpanzees:

“A Trumpanzee is a mindless follower and believer of Donald Trump. ..these primitive creatures are known to attack. Trumpanzees are un-evolved members of society known for nonsensical, sexist, racist, and inflammatory remarks.” – Urban Dictionary

People who believe falsehoods and conspiracy theories — as many Trump followers do — are no laughing matter. They’re potentially as dangerous as those who burned people at the stake and hanged “witches.” It may be 2020, but the GOP’s demagoguery against common-sense health measures like wearing masks in public has cost lives.
