LOTR fans “are in for an unexpected treat,” NBC News says.
“Previously unseen collections of writings from the author will be published next year and shed new light on works including ‘The Lord of the Rings,’ ‘The Silmarillion’ and ‘Unfinished Tales,’ publisher Houghton Mifflin Harcourt said Thursday.”
The book, titled “The Nature of Middle Earth,” will come out on June 24, 2021. The LOTR trilogy was published in 1954 and 1955, but Tolkien continued writing about Middle Earth until his death in 1973, and this book is drawn from those later writings.
