The Lincolnshire Wildlife Park in Friskney, England, has a colony of about 250 African gray parrots — and a problem.
Five parrots, recent donations from different owners, were quarantined together and began swearing. “It just went ballistic, they were all swearing,” Steve Nichols, the head of the park, told CNN. “I get called a fat t–t every time I walk past.” He added the birds’ most common vulgarity is “f— off.” Adult visitors think it’s funny, but park staff are trying to protect kids’ sensitive ears.
So the birds were separated and spread around the park so they won’t “set each other off,” he said. “I’m hoping they learn different words within colonies, but if they teach the others bad language and I end up with 250 swearing birds, I don’t know what we’ll do,” Nichols told BBC.
But those parrots are so darn cute. Perhaps the parrots can learn new words to clean up their vocabulary and be rehoused with one another.
Must be lonely for these parrots being a potty mouthed parrot.
Thanks for the funny.
