Dead man tweeting

Herman Cain, who died 2 weeks ago, freaked out Twitter uses by tweeting today (below).

I thought, “What’s the big deal?” After all, Dr. Steve Schwartz, founder and proprietor of this blog, left us in March from the GOPlague, but he’s still posting. In fact, he posted here today (Aug. 13, 2020). That’s because he left a lot of forward-dated stuff (there’s more coming). Obviously,  Cain’s staff is posting under his name. They even changed his Twitter account’s name to “The Cain Gang” after some people starting pointing and screeching, “Arghh!! Ghouls!!!”

I don’t know how they came up with “Cain gang,” but I’m sure the similarity to “chain gang” isn’t accidental. Maybe they’re channeling Trump and anticipating where he’ll be after he loses prosecution immunity (his prospects for being pardoned by the next president look dim).

And here’s the most entertaining response from the Twitterverse, penned by Salon blogger Amanda Marcotte:

I don’t know what’s worse: That Herman Cain’s staff wants us to think he’s undead, or that they think people should listen to the political opinions of the undead. Either way, what a bunch of ghouls, especially since Trump got their boss killed.
