    This has always been America. How else could Franklin Roosevelt get the New Deal passed? Have a bigger involvement in Vietnam? Remember the Maine? Turn a protest over a tax into a revolution? It has always been us. Sometimes we manage a surprise by following Socrates’s advice of using common sense. Something lacking in some responses to the virus.
