Sen. Kamala Harris canceled a high-profile fundraising event in New York City and then announced she is dropping out of the Democratic nomination race, CNN reported Tuesday morning.
Harris started the campaign with a strong first-debate performance, but has slipped steadily since then, and has been hovering below 5% in recent polls.
With Mike and others recently entering the race can anyone say Kamala is really out? Will she be on ballots in some states such as California. could she win California without really trying? Maybe that is the strategy voters are looking for.
She should probably stay in (or did Mike or someone else make promises?) as the Democratic convention could be brokered. Hard to tell but it appears there will be three or four candidates vying for the nomination. Just having votes and supporters at the convention could mean a place at the big conference table, or has it dawned on Kamala that she is going to be in Washington DC when she should be out campaigning? A political gift from her colleagues in the House of Representatives.
