There is good reason to be frightened
of David Clark.
Mr. Clarke will serve under another Trump appointee, the former Commandant of Guantanamo, General Kelley.
These Trumpers will oversee the US’ first internal security police force. One of the central tenets of the US Constitution was to ban the existence of an internal army or police force. The founders were rightly afraid that such a police force could impose a dictatorship.
Our freedom from an internal police changed after September 9 11. Since 9-11 the US has had a a national police force withing the Department of Homeland Security. This force is a called the Federal Police Force. Unlike every other police force in the US, the FPS is not sworn to uphold the Constitution and has no procedure for internal review of actions taken by its officers. (From FOXNEWS) Now an American cop who claims not be bound by the law, Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke, has agreed to take a job as an assistant secretary in the Department of Homeland Security. Clarke he will work in the Office of Partnership and Engagement as a liaison to state, local and tribal law enforcement agencies. He said he will start in June.
The appointment comes just two weeks after an inquest into the dehydration death of an inmate at the Milwaukee County Jail recommended criminal charges against as many as seven staffers. Clarke wasn’t among them. A lengthy inquest into the dehydration death of a Milwaukee County Jail inmate raised troubling questions about how Clarke manages the jail, just as the White House was said to be considering him for the job. Seven jail staffers could face criminal charges after the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office outlined a case for the jury suggesting that disobedient inmates were routinely deprived of water as punishment and pleas for help were ignored.
Despite the investigation into his jail, Clarke remained popular on FOX news to the point where he was being promoted for a to run for U.S. Senate next year against Democratic Sen. Tammy Baldwin.
Last year, the frequent Fox News guest earned more than $105,000 in speaking fees — almost as much as his sheriff’s salary — at more than three dozen events across the country.
David Neiwert Officially, the position is supposed to be that of a liaison to local law enforcement:
“Clarke said during a local radio interview Wednesday afternoon that he will be appointed as an assistant secretary in the Office of Partnership and Engagement, acting as a liaison between the agency and local police departments and likely pressuring them to enforce the Trump administration’s tough new crackdown on illegal immigration. The position that does not require Senate confirmation.”
