Why Fox is not a legitimate news source

Maxine Waters is a Member of Congress — elected by the people of her district to represent them in our national legislative assembly. Eric Bolling is an employee of the Fox network; his role is host and commentator. Back in 2012, shortly after Whitney Houston died, Bolling made this on-air remark directed at Waters:

“How’s this, Congresswoman? You saw what happened to Whitney Houston. Step away from the crack pipe. Step away from the Xanax. Step away from the Lorazapam. It’s going to get you in trouble.”

Then last week another Fox personality, Bill O’Reilly, who should need no introduction, said on air that he won’t listen to anything Waters says because of her “James Brown” hairdo.

You simply don’t hear remarks like that on legitimate news stations — not even in their political commentary — for the simple reason that such remarks are not objective news reporting. These are the words of rabid partisans, and by giving them a microphone, Fox defines itself as a propagandist. In any case, whatever Fox is, it’s not airing objective journalism by any stretch of imagination.
