Two GOP senators, Murkowski (AK) and Collins (ME), will vote against Trump’s education secretary nominee, Betsy DeVos, a charter-school champion who disdains public schools, which means if all Democrats vote against her, she has at most 50 “yes” votes against 50 “no” votes, and it would take VP Pence’s tiebreaker to confirm her. But there’s a twist. If Sen. Sessions is confirmed for Attorney General before DeVos’ vote, then she has only 49 votes and will lose. Or if one more Republican defects, she’s gone no matter what. Here’s praying God protects America’s public school children.
