Trump has tapped Rep. Ryan Zinke (R-WY) for Interior. Zinke is a mixed bag. He’s a big supporter of fossil fuel companies, and has a near-zero rating from the League of Conservation Voters. But he also supporters alternative energy, and hedges on climate change, saying it’s not a “hoax” but “not proven science” either. Unlike McMorris-Rodgers, he opposes selling off public lands, or turning over federal lands to states. And he supporters funding more open spaces. So, I guess we can look forward to oil and gas rigs in National Monuments, but also more National Monuments to put them in. Oh, and he loves to hunt and fish. And, of course, he likes guns. Especially star-spangled guns.
