Important column by Danny Westneat, and encouraging that an ex-Microsoftie has set up a watchdog website for Seattle City Council,www.sccinsight.com. My take on the liberal monoculture at City Hall is that district elections now mean councilmembers can oblige some generous interest groups without worrying about how the rest of the city, particularly moderate enclaves, might feel. Reelection is inexpensive and readily assured. So, indulge yourself.
