At my age I remember a lot of people who made the claim to be able to speak for “the people.”
Before my birth in 1942 we wanted to keep the Jews out of the US and the US out of the Jew’s war, the we won that war.
After WWII “we” s that the US govt under Truman had gone commie, so we investigated everyone. Then then “we” claimed that the people needed to overthrow the US govt because of Vietnam. How did that go?
Then “we” wanted to get everyone onto drugs. Maybe that si why “we” lost the wars we fought in Vietnam, Afghanistan, Jordan, Iraq ..?
Oh well my “we” fought and won civil rights, we went to the Moon, cured polio, cured many kinds of cancer, extended the life span by five years, made Dr. King a saint, we …
