DES MOINES, Iowa –
Despite a narrowing gap between Sanders and Clinton in the Iowa race, some of his supporters are showing signs of corporate paranoia.
Bernie Sanders is a nice man, a noble guy and my candidate but his campaign is showing tad bit of paranoia over the involvement of Microsoft in the Iowa Caucuses.
You see, Microsoft created separate mobile apps for the Dems and the Reps to run their caucuses. Officials at hundreds of caucuses across the state will use the Microsoft apps to report results to party headquarters for tabulation.
Pete D’Alessandro, who is running the Iowa portion of Sanders’ campaign, told MSNBC: “You’d have to ask yourself why they’d want to give something like that away for free.”
Other Sanders aides noted that Microsoft employees have donated several hundred thousand dollars to Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton over her career, and questioned why the Iowa Democratic Party didn’t partner with a software company based in Iowa.
Microsoft representatives said “Microsoft is providing technology and services solely to administer and facilitate a neutral, accurate, efficient reporting system for the caucuses,” We are proud to partner with the Iowa Democratic and Republican parties to ensure accurate results on caucus night.”
