David Brewster: The Coming of the Corporate Democrat

Ever wonder about the politics of the tech tycoons and workers? An easy answer is libertarian, but that turns out to be misleading. These folks are overwhelmingly Democrats, but with a difference: hostile to unions, pro-free trade, market-favoring, and fond of charter schools, which they see as resembling start-up environments. One wonders, given all their financial clout, how long it will be before the center of gravity of the Democrats will shift. You wouldn’t tell it by Hillary’s campaign, drifting steadily to the old left during primary time, but I bet you will sense it in the next four years.

this brand of “democrat” is not a democrat at all. they may believe themselves to be, but in truth they are just republicans who have not gone completely off the rails crazy. they are the wolf in sheep’s clothing. the baby boom “me generation” lying to themselves about their political affiliation.
this is a big problem for the democratic party, there is a large number of people in the under the age of 35 group that don’t vote because the party seems to be trending this way, or are beginning to vote third party. if democrats don’t want to see happen to them what is currently happening to the republican party right now in the next decade or two these people need to be purged from the party.
i’ve done alot of work for the democratic party (it pays the bills), but i rarely vote democrat; often because there are to many candidates of this stripe, and also their because of their poor environmental record in general.
i can only vote my conscience, and i could never live with myself voting for this type of candidate. many of the up and coming generation feel this way. those of us in my generation, and my children’s generation have much work to do to reverse the damage the last two generations have inflicted. i am not the only one who feels this way, what do you think liberal minded 20 and 30 somethings talk about about when they talk about politics?

For better or worse, the US has a two party system. If you do not vote that means you are supporting the party of Bush, Falwell, Cruz, enforced pregnacny, ending the middle calss, and racism.

The list is not a menue where you can pick and choose. If you choose nothing, the restaurant will serve you whatever choce represents the majority.

The only option, depending on jhwre you ive, is to work for individuals based on your beeif they can stand for your values either a Dems or .. in my state .. as independednt because our voting system encourages that.
