ED Clark ON HALA (Seattle’s new zoning proposal)

Chief Seattle(FACEBOOK) The newly proposed HALA up zoning plan will destroy Seattle’s way of life, and in particular take the future of our wonderful neighborhoods out of the hands of neighborhoods. I live in Madison Valley, and I see places all over it where higher buildings and denser housing will be okay. Shouldn’t the people who live in these places have more say than developers with money. This is giving in to the 1% once again.

I think you have an important perspective here that others have not had the guts to talk about.

The one thing I would add is that this is NOT just an issue for a lux neghborhood like yours. The effects on less affluent neighborhoods (remember the middle class?) are even more dramatic.

In a bit of hyperbole, on emight stretch tis to the time when Doc Maynard C=cinvinced Chief Seattle to vacte this place .

There are alternatives. Like you I think that even the most affluent neighborhoods would benefit from FOCAL development .. eg developments like Mirabella migh add a lot to Madison Park. I would like to see somethng like that n Broadmoor .
