SUNDAY REVELATIONS: In Easter season, where is the Pope’s compassion for the dying?

Pope FrankIf Jesus ‘ decision to die is celebrated  shouldn’t that be as true of people built in Jesus’  image?

Pope Francis denounced euthanasia.  He spoke in response to Brittany Maynard’s public decision to die rather than suffer through terminal brain cancer.  The Pope said,  “This woman (took her own life) thinking she would die with dignity, but this is the error.” He called out those who assist with voluntary death, even of those with great pain, as having a  “false sense of compassion.”

Francis seems like a good person.  Yet his religion is built on the self-sacrifice of Jesus.  I  hope my Catholic friends will excuse me for having a perverted hope that this Pope dies of glioblastoma or Parkinson’s and experiences more  compassion than he is offering now to the dying.
