Over at William Quick’s website named Steveshits <https://steveshit.wordpress.com/2015/03/07/where-was-the-kkk-founded/> (!!) he claims that my post says that “the KKK was founded in “Charleston South Carolina, where principles of the KK [sic] were written in a synagogue.[sic]” Sadly Bill is wrong about both my post and the racist history of the synagogue he now belongs to. The Jewish racism of Charleston and the origins of THE principles used to create the KKK are well documented. I did not say that the KKK was founded in Charleston, but the white terrorist group was based on the Scottish Rite, a racist doctrine within free masonry. Prominent Charleston Jews were among the authors of this doctrine and would have been supportive of the Klan if it had not decided to also focus hatred on Jews. Of course support for racism among the Jews of South Carolina this might have been expected since the majority of the pre civil war Jewish households contained slaves and patriotic Jews were avid supporters of the confederacy.
