While Kaci Hickox is not one of the five Ebola fighters featured on the covers of Time’s various editions, the magazine’s selection of the health care professionals fighting Ebola in West Africa for its traditional annual recognition of the world’s most influential people is a well-deserved slap in the face to the rightwing haters who demonized Hickox for standing up to the bullying of fearmongering politicians like Chris Christie and Paul LePage. Well done, Time editors.
Nurse Kaci Hickox is one of the Ebola fighters saving lives and making the world a better place. The people who criticized her for standing up to bullying politicians and arguing for rational science-based quarantine policies, not so much.
